Flying History represents a unique aviation history resource which includes over 50,000 photographs

At the outset of this project, The Aviation Century, Dan Patterson and Ron Dick decided to build on the research, text and photography from their previous publications and create a new aviation history resource. The project has now accumulated 4 years of primary research, gathered from an international effort. The written text by Ron Dick is over 400,000 words and Dan Patterson has made over 50,000 new color photographs.

The concept for this project has become our mantra . . . "Aviation has changed your world more than any other factor in the 20th Century". Now we have have proved that concept and want to share our findings.

Individually and together Ron Dick and Dan Patterson have worked for more than 20 years to gather all of the resources which now are included in Flying History. Their experiences can now be shared through this website. Ron Dick has been an accredited Smithsonian Study tour leader for more than a decade, leading tours to The United Kingdom, Western and Central Europe and in the USA. He has also been a lecturer and study leader for the United States Air Force in Washington, D.C. as well as at the USAF Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB. Dan Patterson had published over a dozen books about aviation history and now has the five books for this project in production as well as other publishing projects. The images made for this project and previous publications are often unique and not available anywhere else in the world.

Both Dan and Ron lecture often about aviation history and the unique experiences they have had while gathering the materials for this landmark history. They have spoken across the USA and in England.

Visit the great and small museums where aviation icons are kept, visit locations where aviation history was made and share a meal with significant figures from aviation history.

Lectures about human achievement through aviation
One - Two - and Three Day Seminars which include significant aviators, original aviation artwork and photographs, a self contained aviation sales site which compliments the subject. Revenues shared with host.

Aviation History Gallery exhibitions
Images of the highest quality and unique in originality. Framed and available for sale and permanent exhibit. These inages created for the project have been made with large format cameras and lenses, and can be exhibited as large as the subjects actual size. A custom designed exhibit for the purposes of an event or anniversary would be a welcome project.

Access to first person research accomplished for The Aviation Century project.

Aviation history advisories, for film projects, script review, interface with historic aircraft owners and operators. Ron Dick was aerial sequences advisor for Warner Brothers production of "Memphis Belle". Dan Patterson has advised and reviewed film scripts for authenticity and for access to historic aircraft.
