Curtiss
NC4
This large US Navy flying boat was the first airplane to cross the Atlantic
Ocean in May 1919. The NC4 was the only one of four
which set out from North America to reach the far
side. Navigating by ships positioned every 50 miles
the NC4 arrived in Lisbon three days after departure.
On loan to the National Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola,
Fla, USA, from the National Air & Space Museum.
